LMX2572: LMX2572 register settings

Part Number: LMX2572

Hi:

I just get started with LMX2572 EVM board, but it seems difficult to find a guidance to set those parameters in TICS register values (LMX2572 has 125 registers). I will appreciate if you can share some documents with me that describe how to get or calculate those values.

Thank you,

Jason

  • Hi Jason,

The register map section in the datasheet has all the details of the registers setting.

In TICS Pro, you can also mouse-over the register to see its description on the bottom left corner window.

Suggest also follow the EVM user's guide to get it started.

  • Thank you Noel,

I have eval board set up. I wonder if I can use Matlab or Python to talk to the eval board through the TICS interface. Do you have some library or API that we can use?

    Jason

  • Hi Jason,

I am afraid I don't have sample code or library.

  • Hi Noel:

It looks something wrong with my LMX2572 eval board. It works fine for a few days, but this morning I couldn't generate any frequencies higher than 3.5GHz. I load the previous stored settings to the TICS software, it looks the same thing. Is there any register value that control this frequency range? The only thing I can think of is the reset check box in the TICS control panel. It looks like after I click reset, it seems wired behavior.

    Thank you,

    Jason

  • Hello Jason,

You need to check (to reset) and un-check (bring back to normal operation) the reset button to reset the device. Have you tried disconnecting everything from the EVM and power cycling the board? Are you still able to communicate with the EVM, you can click the POWERDOWN setting and monitor current consumption to verify you are able to communicate with EVM.

    Thanks,

    Vibhu
