LMX2595: LMX2595

Part Number: LMX2595

Hello,

Here is my application for Full-Duplex transceiver:  for using the PLL + Synth on Up conversion (needs LO range 16 GHz-17.5 GHz) and Down conversion  (needs LO range 12.5GHz-13.2GHz) with 100 MHz reference clock.  Below are my questions:

1. Can I use the same LMX2595 Microwave PLL Synthesizer to generate LO1 and LO2 as the same time (full-duplex system) for up and down conversion or I have to use two separate chip with 100 MHz reference clock?

2. What is the difference between LMX2595RHAR vs. LMX2595RHAT?

3. For Full-Duplex system, what are the critical points that LO or PLL+Synthesizer need to taking care of?

4. What are the recommendations if it need with two different LO frequencies?

Thanks and hope to receive your advice!

  • Hello Anthony,

    1. Both outputs of the LMX2595 use the same VCO. If you set your VCO to say 16 GHz and output the VCO on RFoutA, then RFoutB can either be the same frequency or an integer divide down from the VCO frequency using the channel divider. The minimum channel divider value is 2, so this will put RFoutB at 8 GHz. You will need to use two separate chips for the two frequencies you mentioned.
    2. This is the dimensions of the reel package it comes in. RHAR is a 2500 piece reel, vs RHAT is a 250 piece reel

For 3 and 4 can you provide more details on the system requirements, are there any requirements for phase synchronization or a sysref with the ADC/DAC or the digital blocks?
