CDCE913 and external TCXO

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCE913, CDC3S04

Hi

I would like to ask about following problem. I would like to use CDCE913 with external TCXO from Conwin Model D32G. It looks that input impedance of CDCE913 affect TCXO signal stability - amplitude pulsation. Additionally signal at the output is distorted. Could you give me some hint?

Best regards

  • Hi Michal,

In order to use a TCXO with a CDCE913, the CDCE913 should be programmed to LVCMOS input. Therefore the TCXO used should be 1.8V LVCMOS, I have checked the datasheet of the D32G and it outputs a clipped sinewave type of signal. Please ensure that the swing is greater than 720mV and it is cententered to it crosses Vilmax=0.54V and VIHmin=1.26V. Also the clippend sinewave should present a maximum rise/fall of 3ns.

If you would like to use the CDCE913 just for clock distribution I would recommend you to take a look at the CDC3S04, that is desinged to fan out a clipped sinusoidal type of signal.

    Best regards,
