CDCM6208: PLL BYPASS

On the CDCM6208 even though I see on Digi key that this part has PLL with BYPASS I do not see in datasheet that this is possible.

If PLL BYPASS is possible or not, let me know and how.

Hi there,

Yes the PLL can be bypassed. But are you looking for a simple clock buffer instead, such as CDCLVP1208?

I am also using the part you recommend for a fixed buffer x 4.

How / Where do you bypass the PLL on CDCM6208?

Hi Patrick,

I'm assuming the config I uploaded to you in the other thread below resolved this issue as well, but to make the answer explicit for any others searching this answer in the future: Y4 and Y5 are wired such that PRI_REF or SEC_REF can bypass the PLL and drive the dividers. The relevant control fields are OUTMUX_CH4 (R9[14:13]) and OUTMUX_CH5 (R12[14:13]). The Y4 and Y5 dividers should be set to divide-by-1 (OUTDIV4, R10[11:4] = 1, and OUTDIV5, R13[11:4] = 1) and the fractional dividers should be disabled (FRACDIV4, R10[3:0] = 0 R11[15:0] = 0, and FRADCIV5, R13[3:0] = 0, R14[15:0] = 0).
