LM567C: input signal requirements and number of required cycles

Part Number: LM567C

Hi,

This is probably a silly question but what are the input signal requirements with regards to voltage range?  i.e. can the signal be a sine wave between -1V to 1V?

Another question, is the an minimum number of required cycles above a detectable voltage before the output switches?

I'm wanting to use this chip to detect a 40kHz ultrasonic pulse.  I want the input burst to be as short as possible so a minimum cycle value would help me tune this.

thanks for your assistance

  • Hi Carolina,

-1V to 1V sine wave input is OK, this is within the recommended operating conditions.

The smallest detectable input voltage is also given in the recommended operating conditions. I couldn't locate info on the number of cycles required for the output to toggle after an input within the passband is received.

    Kind regards,
    Lane
