CDCDB2000: Questions about PCIe Gen 4-5 Clock generator

Part Number: CDCDB2000
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCI6214

Hello,

My customer has questions related to CDCDB2000 as follows.

Q1

In the CDCDB2000 System Diagram on page 1 of the datasheet, what actual devices does TI reference for PCIe Gen 4-5 Clock generator?

Please let my customer know recommended TI devices. Or if TI does not have it, please let them know recommended device name outside TI.

Q2

Looking at CDCDB2000 datasheet Figure 9, there is a devise named CK440Q.

What device does this CL440Q reference?

Please tell the vendor name and device name for this CK440Q.

Q3

Does TI plan to release CK440Q in the future?

Best regards,

K.Hirano

  • Hello Hirano-san,

Q1: Any device which is capable of meeting PCIe Gen 4-5 specification and which can create the required PCIe output frequencies could be used for this clock generator. An example device for PCIe Gen 4 would be the CDCI6214.

Q2: I believe this may have been an original name for a different buffer, but whatever this buffer may have been, it is not currently in use. Our testing for the SBI spec used another CDCDB2000 as the daisy chain source.

Q3: No plans to release whatever this device may have been.

    Regards,
