LMX2594: Output power questions

Part Number: LMX2594
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-01401

Hi Noel,

My customer is asking me about output power as follows;

1. When the output is single-ended, is the signal level 3dBm lower than the Figure 20 in the datasheet?
2. The  Figure 20 is for 8GHz. How much output signal level is lower in case of 11GHz and 13GHz comparing to 8GHz?
3. If the pull-up resistor is replaced with inductor, how much output signal level higher comparing to resistor?

Regards,
Nobuhiko Wasa

  • Hello Wasa-san,

    The output power graphs and specifications listed in the datasheet are single ended measurements on the TIDA-01401 board. The TIDA-01401 board, has LMX2594s with optimal, straight and short traces that is good for measuring the power of the device.

    Figure 18. Output Power Across Frequency describes how the power at 11 GHz and 13 GHz compares with 8 GHz. This figure also illustrates the difference in power for a pull-up resistor vs inductor.

    Thanks,

    Vibhu
