CDCE6214: CECE configuration GUI and tool

Part Number: CDCE6214
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY, TICSPRO-SW,

Hi,

The CDCE6214 EVM can be configured by I2C interface through USB2ANY and tool,  What's the USB2ANY tool? Is it on CDCE6214 EVM board?

When I place  CDCE6214  on my PCB, Can I also can use the GUI through other USB to I2C tool or i must use TI's USB2ANY tool?

Thanks

  • Hello ren,

The GUI can be found on TICSPRO-SW. I do not think we have an EVM for the commercial device however there is a CDCE6214-Q1EVM (automotive). Are you using the CDCE6214-Q1EVM?

The USB2ANY tool can be used to support different communication protocols and program devices. You can find more information here: https://www.ti.com/tool/USB2ANY.

Any I2C interface can be used as long as it meets the "7.23 Timing Requirements, I2C-Compatible Serial Interface" specifications in the datasheet.

CDCE6214-Q1EVM has an on-board USB2ANY (MSP430) and does not require you to use an external USB2ANY.

I do not think you can use the GUI with other I2C tools as it was designed to work with an MSP430 microcontroller. However, if you have a header with the same pin definition you can use an off-board USB2ANY and use the GUI.

    Thanks,

    Vibhu

  • Hi Vibhu,

    Thanks.

I don't have CDCE6214 EVM, I just refer the CDCE6214 EVM schematics design my PCB. But i don't know how to configure CDCE6214 and how to use the GUI with my PCB.

As your said, i think we need and off-board USB2ANY tool and a header on my PCB.
