LMK01801: Error in IBIS model

Part Number: LMK01801

Hi,

I was trying to open the ibis model of LMK01801 in hyperlynx, and I got the following error:

Errors at loading model(s):

Error : at line 372 in file X:/more_models/lmk01801_ti.ibs : Messages for model UWIRE_DIN:

Error : Parse failed on file X:/more_models/lmk01801_ti.ibs.

Is there a correct IBIS model?

Thanks n Regards,

Binayak

  • Hi Binayak,

I'm not getting any issues simulating with the IBIS model from the product folder, or opening it in Hyperlynx.

Where do you get the errors? Can you send the screenshot?

What version of Hyperlynx are you using?

    Kind regards,
    Lane

  • Hi Lane,

I re-downloaded the IBIS model and tried opening the IBIS model in Hyperlynx simulation software (Hyperlynx LineSim VX.2.7). I couldn't open the ibis model and I got following error:

I am attaching the snapshot of the same.

    Thanks n Regards,

    Binayak

  • Hi Binayak,

I'm checking the errors in the model from that loading message. The error at line 372 indicates " Vinl and Vinh must satisfy Vinh >= Vinl" and Vinh is shown as 1.6V >= Vinl = 0.4V.

There also appear to be warnings indicating UWIRE_DIN does not exist when it is indeed included in the model

When I check using the built in parsers for IBIS spec and HyperLynx, it passes both compatibility checks. It's not clear why the model is having errors.

    Kind regards,
    Lane

  • Hi Lane,

May I know which hyperlynx version are you using? Is it opening fine in your hyperlynx version?

    Thanks n Regards,

    Binayak

  • Hi Binayak,

I use HyperLynx LineSim v9.4, it opens fine in this version. Perhaps there is a compatibility issue.

I can put in a request to update the IBIS model using the error message you provided

    Kind regards,
    Lane

  • HI Lane,

Kindly update the model. I'm facing the same issue in Hyperlynx version 2.6 too.

    Thanks,

    Binayak

  • Hi Binayak,

Just to confirm, do you receive the same error message in version 2.6?

I'd like to provide as much information as possible in the model update request to get it fixed quickly.

    Kind regards,
    Lane

  • Hi Lane,

Yes. I got the same error message.

    Kind Regards,

    Binayak

  • Hi Lane,

    Any updates on this issue?

    Regards,

    Binayak

  • Hi Binayak,

I just spoke with the modeler. It appears the issue is indeed related to Vinh/Vinl at line 144/145. Can you swap the values so that Vinh = 1.6V and Vinl = 0.4V and confirm that you no longer are seeing the error messages?

    Kind regards,
    Lane

  • Hi Lane

I changed VIH and VIL per your recommendation it seems to fix some issue but still see lot of error when use ADS load the ibis model.  Please see error below

  • Hi Lane and Sam,

When I do the VIH and VIL changes as suggested by Lane, I don't get any errors in Hyperlynx. Hyperlynx is not spilling out error message as Sam is saying ADS does.

Is the model correct or some issues are still there with this model?

    Regards,

    Binayak

  • Hi TI technical support

Can you help to answer my previous question?  The error on ADS simulation not Hyperlynx.

    Thanks
    Sam Liu

  • Hi,

This updated model is fine for HyperLynx but we will put in the request to fix the model for ADS too. I have confirmed it for HyperLynx 9.4 but I do not use ADS simulator.

    Binayak,

We originally planned to release this updated model to the web, but now we will try to fix it for ADS beforehand. Binayak, you can use your updated version of the model in the meantime. When we have the model ready with that update, I would ask that you can simulate it with no errors.

    Sam,

I'll use this error message when updating the IBIS model update request

    Kind regards,
    Lane

  • Sam,

which simulator and version do you use?

    Kind regards,
    Lane
