LMX2491: driving the input reference clock recommendation

Part Number: LMX2491

We are going looking at the  LMX2491 for a radar application

The vco we are using is very noisy so the pll bandwidth is going to have to be very wide

Will driving the REFOSC PINS differentially and with high slew rate will improve phase noise?

  • Hello ajayt,

Depending on the input slew rate/frequency/power you are currently using a higher slew rate typically improved phase noise performance of the PLL, however, a higher slew rate will not compensate for a noise source.

    Thanks,
