CDCE6214: CDCE6214 Output Termination

Part Number: CDCE6214

Hi,

Due to the datasheet termination, The LVCMOS and LPHCSL output termination as below:

And we also noticed the LVCMOS and LPHCSL output impedance are designed to 50ohm and 100ohm, generally the PCB routing impedance is 50ohm for single and 100ohm for differential, Does it need the RS resistor on my PCB?

Thanks

  • Hi Anqiang,

The series resistance is generally not needed, unless there's need to reduce the ringing when impedance isn't matched very well. So what's usually done is a placeholder with 0Ohm. LVCMOS output usually needs no termination and the receiver should be high impedance. The LP-HCSL doesn't need any output termination either because there's 50Ohm internally.

    Regards,
    Hao
