BQ32000: about calibration update and initial/subsequent power cycle question

Part Number: BQ32000

Hello expert,

My customer has a question on calibration and power cycle. We would like to know why will calibration update every 8 or 16 minutes depends on sign(S). I know the ppm meaning but don't know why it will update 8 or 16 minutes. And also for the power cycle, we would like to confirm if initial cycle follows Vback first then Vcc within 1ms and subsequent cycle is only vback, not Vcc. Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

Ann Lien

  • Hi Ann,

Based on Table 4, you can see the the calibration adjustment for speeding is is double that of slowing, which is why the update occurs half as frequently.

This power sequence is acceptable. It can be improved by providing VCC first and then applying Vback.

    Kind regards,
    Lane
