Hi,

Is it possible to generate the continuous sawtooth waveform output frequency from 5.8GHz to 6GHz in 200us?

Hi Sushant,

The VCO will have to sweep its frequency from 11.6G to 12GHz in 200µs. The sweep range is 400MHz, which is too big for a linear frequency sweep. As a result, multiple VCO calibrations are required during the sweep. Since we have to reserve sufficient time for VCO calibration to complete, you will end up having a staircase like frequency sweep. Is this something acceptable? If you need linear ramp, you will have to use LMX2491 + external VCO.

Hi Sushant,

We have PLL Sim for loop filter design. That's all we have for LMX2491.

We also have an IBIS model for LMX2492Q, which could be used for LMX2491.
