LMX2820: differential termination for OSCIN_P/N and SRREQ_P/N inputs?

Part Number: LMX2820

For the OSCIN_P/N and SRREQ_P/N inputs on the PLMX2820 part, do we need to add the differential termination? The LMX2820EVM schematic shows the termination resistors, but they are DNPs and it’s using only the P side as input. The signal looks bad without a 100ohm termination added… so wanted to check if there is any internal diff termination that was not modeled in the lmx2820 ibis model….

  • Hi Michael,

EVM user's guide page 17 has illustrated the suggestion for both single-ended and differential configuration for OSCIN.

Same suggestion applies to SRREQ if it is AC-coupled. SRREQ accepts DC-coupled LVDS and CMOS.
