LMX2592: LMX2592 Suddenly Died

Part Number: LMX2592

Why would an LMX2592 suddenly die? We'd been able to program it in the last two weeks and it would output tones just fine, but then it suddenly died and couldn't be programmed anymore. We have other modules with LMX2592's but they have been working just fine for so far more than a year. We are not a semiconductor company and we don't have IC failure analysis capabilities. Thanks.

    Hi Randy,

    ESD is one of the common causes of failure. However, no one can make any guess without a failure analysis. 

    You may contact your local sales office to proceed for a failure analysis. You may also order a few free samples to fix your module, if you urgently need a working module.

    Hi Noel,

    Thanks for your reply appreciate it. We'll contact our local TI office and inquire if we could have this chip FA'ed. I could also do some basic FA like checking ESD diodes. Rest assured we have a strict ESD protocol here. We don't need LMX2592 samples because we have them in our inventory.
