Hi,

Can we interface AFE4403 to external controller over SPI?

I was going through schematic and don't see any headers to access AFE's SPI lines?

Hi Anurag,

Yes, it is possible to interface the AFE4403 to external controller over SPI.

You can refer to Table 3 in the AFE4403 EVM user guide.

The jumper resistors corresponding to the SPI signals need to be removed and the external SPI signals should be connected to the resistor solder pads closer to the AFE.

Hi Praveen,

Thanks for response, I was also planning to do so.

Although, I was expecting some sophisticated provision using jumpers like in EVMs for BQ76xxx series which I have used in past. But, I see that's not implemented here.

Hi Aroul,

Can you also please explain what is the significance of termination resistors in SPI lines??

Do I need those while connecting to external MCU as well??

Hello Anurag,

Termination resistors are not needed for the SPI lines. They were just installed as place holders.
