DDC118: Newer ADC to replace the DDC118

Hello,

My customer is currently using an older ADC chip: DDC118.

Application: Vapor Sensing (Doesn't need to be automotive grade)

How do they do the sensing? Grid of 16-18 nanofibers to get different signatures. Current system can measure down into the picoamp range.

Looking for a newer ADC that has anywhere from 16-32 channels with a <= cost.

I'm not too familiar with the newer ADC product in this area, so I'd appreciate some help on narrowing down my search.

Hi Alex,

Probably DDC232 would be the closest to what you ask, with 32 channels and similar behavior to the DDC118. Cost per channel should be lower too.

The other device would be the DDC316 but it is 16bit "only" and the full-scale range is lower. It is faster though (50 or 100KSPS).

FYI, there is no newer 8 channel DDC like the DDC118.

Hi Alex,

The ADS1258 is multichannel voltage input ADC, whereas the DDC device family is a current-input ADC. The DDC device is generally used for low-level current output devices, such as photodiodes, and can be directly connected to its inputs and digitized.
