Part Number: DAC81416EVM
Hi, I got the DAC81416 for optical research for the first time in my entire life.
I checked the user guide and data sheet but I can't find the manual introducing how to program the DAC81416EVM.
I installed the software but nothing more.
I hope you to let me know how ti do that and introduce the software.
Hi,
I can help you how to program DAC81416 EVM
1. USB2ANY programmer must need to program EVM which is not part of DAC81416EVM kit and you have to order separately.
2. Once you got the programmer , please refer DAC81416EVM user guide for hardware setup, software installation and programming.
Hope this will help you.
Thank you for reply.
However, I already did what you reply. The user guide and data sheet that TI provides don't include how to program it.
What I want to know is how to program the output of the DAC automatically as I programmed at the interface I added.
Hi Seungeon Lee,
I can see from GUI screen that USB2ANY not detected in PC, whether you connected USB2ANY in you PC ? It seems not connected
(it look like in Demo mode)
After USB2ANY connected with PC and opening GUI you can see screen as below when USB2ANY interface establish connection.
You can perform DAC programming once connection are established.
Hi Anbu,
I did all what you write before. However, I still have the same problem. The datasheets and userguide TI provides don't explain how to write code to control the DAC. i hope you show me some example programming that changes the output according to time.
Hi Senugeon Lee,
I can help you on refence programming sequence. before that i want to ensure your h/w setup working fine.
Can you able to establish USB2ANY hardware connection with EVM ? did you able to seed hardware connected status on GUI ?
Could you please confirm supply voltage at J7 connector at EVM
J7.3 ---- GND
J7.4-----VIO----?
J7.5-----VDD/VAA-----?
J7.6 -----VSS > ?
J7.7-------VCC> ?
Do I have to connect the voltage supply for programming? I think programming the code first and connecting the supply would be better.
After power device with all recommended supply
1. Select DAC Range base on VCC and VSS supply ( Ex. VCC=5 V and VSS =0V)
- DAC Range should be select 0-5V for specific channel
2. Enable DAC channel
3. Device should be power on mode ( by default in power down mode)
4. Provide DAC code and DACOUT box for specific channel.
5. Measure o/p an J1 connector for specific channel
find the screen shot for DAC channel0 selection for 0-5 V range and 0 volt output
1. 0 V output
2. mid code =0x8000, 2.5 V output
3. full scale 0xFFFF, 5 V output
Hope this will help to solve your issue.
Thank you for nice answer. However, I want to control the voltage output using programming language automatically according to time. Your answer is nice but it looks like it requires human-work for each voltage output changes. Because I need to change the voltage lots of times, I'm looking for another way. Can I ask you is there an another way fit for my situation?
EVM software can't be automated and if you want to control DAC you need SPI host ( example : Microcontroller or FPGA)
Are you using any Microcontroller as host ?
Oh!! I never know that I need Microcontroller. I will find more about it.
I really really THANK YOU SOSOSOSO MUCH
NO, J10 - Jumper on Pin 1-2.
Also, you can refer programming sequence in another thread.
