ADS112U04: Can internal temperature sensor be used for cold junction temperature measurement?

Hi,

I'm using ADS112U04 for thermocouple measurement. If the cold junction is very close to the ADS112U04, will it be okay to assume that ADC internal temperature sensor value is close to cold junction temperature?

    Hi Shaury,

    Yes, the internal temperature sensor of the ADS112U04 can be used to make the cold-junction temperature measurement.  Obviously the ADC has to be within the area of the cold-junction so the consistency of the measurement will be PCB layout dependent.
