AFE4950: power consumption under normal mode

Part Number: AFE4950

Hi Team,

My customer is wondering the power consumption when operating as normal mode.

They have checked the table in datasheet (current consumption section)

and they also measure by themselves, below is the data they got:

Tx:225.7uA   Rx 42.3uA    IO:0.11uA   PPG enable only

Tx:0.1uA   Rx 212.5uA    IO:0.14uA  ECG enable only

Please kindly help to comment, thanks!

  • Hello Patty,

Please refer to Figure 6-12 for the average current consumption across PRF in PPG only mode and Figure 6-40 for the average current across PRF in ECG mode.

Based on the customer's AFE configuration settings, the current consumption would scale.

If there are any further questions, please reach out to biosensing_afe-support@list.ti.com since the device AFE4950 is shared under selective disclosure.
