TLA2024: Open channel conversion result

Part Number: TLA2024

HI, Staff

Let me ask you a question about the operation of TLA2024IRUGR.

I got the AD value with the input open while the 4ch input was enabled.
The result is a value of 200-400 mV.
I thought that the expected value would be 0V.

Please tell me why it does not become 0V when AD conversion is performed with the analog input terminal set to OPEN.

best regards

cafain

  • Hello Cafain-san,

When the input is open and floating with respect to the system GND there is no way to tell exactly what voltage will be measured. If the internal MUX is set to measure a differential signal, you could guarantee a measurement of 0V (plus the internal offset of the TLA2024) by shorting the VAINp and VAINn inputs together. If the MUX is configured for single-ended mode, the VAINn input is connected internally to GND, so the AINx input would need to be also connected to GND to measure 0V.

    Regards,

    Scott
