ADS1292ECG-FE: - Is it possible to increase the bandwidth of the development kit beyond 150Hz?

Part Number: ADS1292ECG-FE
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1291

We are looking at testing the ADS1291 IC for a design geared towards EMG as well as ECG. We would like to test the devkit to see the performance but require minimum 370Hz bandwidth. Ideally we would like to change the cutoff frequency of the filter, is this possible? If not is it possible to get the raw data from the device i.e pre-filtered data? We can then filter the data offline ourselves?

  • Hi Lloyd,

    Thanks for the post.

There is a provision in the ADS1x9x EVM software GUI (Analysis - ECG/RESP Display tab) to enable and disable the high-pass, low-pass, and notch filters. You can also change the filter order and cutoff frequency based on your requirement. The DC removal IIR filter and the multiband-pass filter are applied only for live data streaming mode, which cannot be disabled. It is also possible to save the raw data from the software and post-process the data externally. You can save the data by going to the Save tab and select the "Data to Save" option. Please refer to Section 4.1.3 for more detailed information on the Save Tab. Another option to save the data is to right-click on any waveform window of the data you want to save. You can select Export for the various format that you can save the data.

    Thanks
