ADC12DJ3200: Regarding JESD lane Rate Calculation for JMODE 12

Part Number: ADC12DJ3200

Hi Team,

I am using ADC12DJ3200 in my design. I want to confirm about the output  lane rate for the JMODE 12.

Case1: As mentioned in the datasheet the lane rate would be Devclk multiplied by the factor R. and R is derived as 1 for the JMODE 12. so, the lane rate will be 3.2Gsps*1=3.2Gbps.

Case 2: But if I calculate with below formula

lane rate= [M*N'*(10/8)*Fdecimated]/L

lane rate = [8*12*(10/8)*800]/8 =12Gbps ; all the parameters are taken for JMODE 12, Fdecimated=3200/4=800Msps

So, both the cases the lane rate is different. which case is to be considered for the lane rate calculation.

Please do the needful.

Thanks & Regards

  • Hi Saisri,

Please use the case1 for calculation I am not sure about your second case.

Here is other way of calculating the lane rate. See the table in the data sheet.

    4(channels) x 12bit x 3200Mbps/4(decimation) x 10b/8b( 8b/10b encoding) x 64b/60b( tail bits)/16( lanes) = 3200Mbps.
