DAC3154: Clocks input termination

Part Number: DAC3154

I am trying to understand from the data sheet how to best drive both DACCLK and DATACLK.

DATACLK: Should I drive it LVDS AC or DC coupled? I understand that the device has internal 100ohm termination.

DACCLK: Should be driven LVPECL. But is there any internal termination? Again, DC or AC coupled?

Thanks

David

  • David,

Drive DATACLK as LVDS. No termination resistor is needed as the part has an internal 100 Ohm resistor across DATACLKP and DATACLKN.

Drive DACCLK as AC coupled LVPECL and use an external 100 Ohm resistor. Place this resistor across the DACCLKP and DACCLKN pins and as close as possible to the DAC.
