AMC60804: IDAC question

Part Number: AMC60804

Hi

I have few question as below

1.Could IDAC1~IDAC4 be connected together and let the current output reach 600mA ?

2.If i don't use VCC/VSS/VDAC , could these pin be connected to GND?

  • Hi,

It is possible use multiple IDACs in parallel in applications that require additional current beyond what a single channel can provide. To do this, multiple IDAC channels simply need to be shorted together to produce a current that is equal to the sum of the individual channels. It is recommended that the connected channels be enabled and disable at the same time, and conditions where only a single change channel is enabled or disabled should be avoided. It is also recommended that the current being sourced by both channels be approximately the same to allow distributed heat dissipation.

VCC and VSS can be connected to GND. VDAC outputs leave as floating if you are not using.

  • Hi,

If i want to let output current reach 1.2A , is it also possible use multiple AMC60804 in parallel ?  If it is possible, Is the IDAC supply voltage PVdd still 1.8V?

  • Hi,

I need to confirm this with my design team and revert back.

Regarding supplies, PVDD can be 1.8V as long as you are within the compliance voltage requirements each DAC.

  • Hi,

No issues in parallel operation of multiple AMC60804 with IDAC outputs. Please make sure that compliance voltage is maintained for each AMC60804.

Also have a consideration of power dissipation.
