ADS124S06: Wakeup time from standby mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1220

Hello,

My customer has a question for ADS124S06.

ADS1220 datasheet specifies wakeup time as 50usec. This time is required to wake-up from standby mode.

Is the similar wake-up time required for ADS124S06? I can’t find any description in the datasheet.

Regard,

Oba

  • Hi Oba,

The digital on the ADS124S06 is quite different as compared to the ADS1220.  For example the ADS1220 has a single-cycle settling digital filter whereas the ADS124S06 has a choice between a low-latency or a sinc3 digital filter.  Also there was some added programmable delay to allow for input settling when starting a conversion or changing the mux.  Due to the various combinations of the ADC there are tables showing the length of time required for the completion of the conversion.  Table 13 is showing the timing for the low-latency filter and Table 15 for the sinc3 filter.  The table times do not include the programmable delay time which also needs to be added, but does include any oscillator startup time.

To help in demonstrating how the overall timing works, use the ADS1x4S0x Calculator and use the Digital Filter tab to show the total time for first and subsequent conversions.

    Best regards,
