AMC60804: Use -1.8V Supply for VDAC

Part Number: AMC60804

Hi Expert

Could I use -1.8V/GND for VDAC supply? If I only need -1.5V to 0V output range.

Just want to get higher efficiency for whole system. With -1.8V supply, I can use a DCDC to translate 3.3V to -1.8V, so that to save more linear range.

Thanks!

  • Hi,

Supply ranges are defined by the output voltage range configuration. For negative voltage of 0 to -1.5V, the range should be chosen as 0 to -2.5V which implies that negative supply should be -2.5V. On top of that we have headroom and foot-room requirements of 500mV.

So in your case we need  -2.5V as VSS and VCC to be GND.

    Regards,
