AFE4403EVM: Device_Volts File

Part Number: AFE4403EVM

This query is regarding viewing the Device_Volts file data for PPG signals generated from the AFE4403EVM (follow-up on the previous query: Link)

Usually, to obtain the right photoplethysmography (PPG) signals, the data is first plotted as shown below:

The above-obtained signal is then inverted to obtain the correct PPG signal (as shown below):

Previously, I had asked whether the data present in the Device_Volts file is obtained after the signal has been inverted or if the data is obtained before the inversion of the signal. The reply I got was that the data obtained is not the data of the inverted signal and is obtained before inversion.

However, on plotting several signals using the Device_Volts file data on software such as MATLAB and Python, we obtained the correct PPG signal without inversion (as shown below):

Hence, just wanted to reconfirm whether the data stored in the Device_Volts file is obtained after inversion or not. Cause if the data is not inverted, it would require us to invert the plotted waveform to obtain the right signal. However, we are obtaining the right signal without inverting the plot.

So, I wanted to know what the procedure is once we plot the data from the Device_Volts folder:

1. Is the signal which is plotted from the Device_Volts file the correct PPG signal? (or)

2. Do we need to invert the signal once the data from the Device_Volts has been plotted to obtain the correct PPG signal?

If you could provide some clarity on this issue it would be of great help.

Thank You!
