Hi,

I am looking for an isolated 12 bit ADC for breaking ground loops in a Data Acquisition system.

Input Range is 0 to 5V of 4-20mA coming  from field mounted sensor transmitters.

All parts I have come across offer only 10-bit resolution. Can anyone please help / recommend a suitable part?

    Hi Jayant,

    We have some isolated modulators and some isolated amplifiers that might work for you.  You could also consider isolating the communication to the ADC using a digital isolator.  Isolated modulators like the AMC3336 will need you to create a digital filter or use a micro controller that has the capability built into it.  Isolated amplifiers like the AMC3330 could be used with an ADC found internal to most micro controllers.  Digital isolators like the ISO7341C could be used with a typical 4-wire SPI interface.  Let us know if any of these approaches sounds interesting to you and we can dig a little deeper into the details from there.
