AFE539A4: Reference design documents

Part Number: AFE539A4
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA280

Hi,

I would like to ask you some questions about the reference design which is described at datasheet p55, Fig8-1.

Q1) Where can I get the design documents (shematics, PCB/BOM, etc) of the design?

Q2) Will you recommend the current sense device for "FB2/CMP2" to me?

Q3) Will you tell me the example products of "TEC"?

Thank you for your support.

Best Regards,

Takumi

  • Hi Takumi-san,

We do not have a full reference design for the block diagram in the applications section of the datasheet. This is something we are developing and will release in the next few months, so I do not have a full schematic or PCB/BOM available to share at this time.

Any current sense amplifier will work as long as the output voltage falls within the FB input voltage range of the AFE539A4. This is accomplished by selecting an appropriate shunt resistor and gain for the current sense amplifier. Something like the INA280 would work.

A TEC element will need to be rated for the heating/cooling power needed for your application, along with a few other specs. CUI is one manufacturer of TEC Peltier modules and they have this article that goes over how to select a TEC module based on the application requirements: https://www.cuidevices.com/blog/how-to-select-a-peltier-module

It is important to select the TEC module first so the rest of the components in the circuit can be selected to support the TEC module specifications.

  • Hi Katlynne-san,

Thank you very much for your reply !

I understood the situation of the reference design.

And I also appreciate your kindness about the information of TEC/current sense.

    Best Regards,

    Takumi
