A request for  ADC (simultaneous 8 channel) recommendation for PHYSIOLOGICAL monitoring aplication (input in order 5uV)

    May I ask what might be the source of the signal?  And what are the frequency and bandwidth of the signal?

    ADCs themselves cannot amplify and may have great challenge to measure/convert such tiny voltage(5 uV) and difficult to distinguish it from the noises.

    Usually you will need analog front end(front end analog signal chain), usually composed of several stages of OpAmps and filters then transmit the amplified and filtered analog signals to ADC.

  • what are the frequency and bandwidth of the signal?

    The signals are below 100 hz. Bw 500Hz.

    Caracteristc of sinals:

    channel 1: invasive pressure (1)

    Frequency:
    input range: -5mv to 11.25 mv
    Gain: 64

    channel 2: invasive pressure (2)

    input range: -5mv to 11.25 mv
    Gain: 64

    channel 3: temperature (1)

    input range: 500mv to 1000 mv
    Gain: 1

    channel 4: temperature (2)

    input range: 500mv to 1000 mv
    Gain: 1

    channel 5: FiO2

    input range: 0mv to 62 mv
    Gain: 16

    Do you think that this ADC, ADS131M08, will work with this aplication?

    Thanks for the signal spec.

    I am supporting for ADS1x9x "Patient Monitoring" division/family/sectors, which are usually for ECG, EEG and EMG applications.

    The signals spec you provided don't seem to fall into ADS1x9x Patient Monitoring input ranges. 

    Your signals amplitude ranges might be high for our ADS1x9x Patient Monitoring division/family/sectors.

    You may open another ticket and specify the device to "ADS131M08" or "Precision ADC" or "PADC", which are different division/family/sectors from us, so they could provide you more professional supports.

    Again, as mentioned earlier, for some of your signals, you may still need some analog front end and signal conditioning circuits before feeding into ADCs.
