Hi team,
In datasheet of ADS131E08, Equation 1 in 8.1 describe the formula of ENOB.
In datasheet of ADS131E08S, Equation 1 in 8.1 describe the formula of effective resolution.
Could you pls help to explain the differences between ENOB and effective resolution? is there any relationship between them?
Why ADS131E08S use EFF RES and ADS131E08 use ENOB? Does it reflect any difference between these two sockets?
Thanks!
Rayna
Hello Rayna,
Please check out this blog: https://e2e.ti.com/blogs_/archives/b/precisionhub/posts/a-bone-of-contention-enob-or-effective-resolution
In short, both are derived specifications from the actual measured noise along with some statistics and other givens that are constants. For the actual difference, ENOB for AC inputs, Effective Resolution for DC inputs. Because the noise specifications are the same for both devices, there is no actual difference between them.
Hope this helps.
Best,
-Cole
