ADC128S102QML-SP: INPUT & OUTPUT Pins Impedance

Part Number: ADC128S102QML-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC128S102

Hi!
I would like to implement series and parallel termination between the master and the slave for Din,Dout,CLK,CS. They will be on different boards, joined together by a board to board connector.
I have calculated the characteristics impedance of trace on both boards, they have nearly 51 ohm.

1) I didn't find enough information in data sheet about the input and output impedance of the pins mentioned before, can you help me with that ?
2) would you recommend an RC or thevenin termination instead of a normal series ( on source ) and parallel ( on load ) ?
?

Best Regards,
Mohamed

  • Hi Mohamed,

You can estimate the impedance of the pins on the ADC128S102 by the leakage current where Z = supply/leakage.  The MAX SCLK speed is 16MHz, so I think a simple series R should be fine.  If you have the board space available, you could put footprints in for a cap if needed in the end.
