Hi Experts,

Good day. Would like to ask continued support on this query about TX7332EVM hardware issue. Cx reported:

My board shows power issues. I am supplying +5v supply, but at the end it shows 2.4v. -5v is ok. it was working initially properly, i was getting correct output. The test point tp1, tp2, tp3, tp4, tp5 etc. not showing correct output. I have set the current 200MA for 5v and for +/-100v have set 30MA. Other test output like tr_bf_sync and sync_TP also not coming.

So please tell me solution as soon as possible, for which I am not able to do my project further. If any service you can provide for this, then reply, i will soon arrange for this.

    Hi Archie,

    It is unfortunate to hear that the board is not working. The +5V supply powers the device as well as other components on the board. So the current demanded is not just the device current but also the current required to power other components. If one of the components on the board has gotten damaged, it can ask for higher current. In this case the supply can dip to lower than expected voltage and the LDOs on the board will not generate the required output. This can lead to the observed abnormality.

    The resistor R12 on the board connects the board and the device supplies. If you remove this resistor, the external +5V supply is connected only to the device. Check if the currents and voltage are okay in this case. If yes, then it is some other component (1.8V LDO, 3.3V LDO etc.) on the board that has gone bad. You will have to remove the components one by one and check if the problem goes away.

    If the voltage dips even after removing the R12 resistor, it indicates that the device has gone bad. You will have to replace the device in this case. 

    Hope you understood the above and are able to resolve the issue.
