DAC161S997: May I know the response time, accuracy and error data of DAC161S997

Part Number: DAC161S997

Hi Team,

I need to know the response time, accuracy, and error information about DAC161S997.

Please help.

Thanks.

  • Peter,

The response time for the device is generally determined by the external components to the device. If you look at Figure 4 on page 7 of the datasheet, the settling time is determined by the size of the code step and selection of capacitors connected to pins C1, C2, and C3 on the device.

The accuracy of the device is given in the electrical characteristics on page 5. There is a section that gives basic offset and gain error, including the total unadjusted error of the device.

Lastly I'm not sure what you mean by error information. The device has an ERRB pin that reports an alarm when the device wants to report different forms of error. There are three primary errors ERRB can report. First, when there is a loop error where the device cannot pull the proper output current from the loop. Second, there is an SPI timeout error. In this error, the device expects a periodic SPI communications. If it does not receive an SPI communication, within that period, the device issues the timeout error. Lastly there is a frame error. The frame error is also an SPI communications error where the device does not receive a number of SCLKs divisible by 24 (which is the expected number of SCLKs for one communication frame).

Below is a table at the bottom of page 9 of the datasheet. This describes the errors that would trigger ERRB. Error detection and reporting are discussed starting at the bottom of page 8 going to this table on page 9.
