ADS131M02: What is the input common-mode voltage when the ADC is a differential input?

Part Number: ADS131M02
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS131M03

Hi Team,

Confirm one question:  What is the input common-mode voltage when the ADC is a differential input? Thanks.

  • Hi Kevin,

The ADS131M03 has an input range which is dependent on the PGA gain. Please see it in the following table on page 5 of the M02 datasheet.

For the Gain=1, 2 and 4, the inputs can be anywhere from (AGND-1.3)V to AVDD. For a higher gain between 8 and 128, the internal pre-charge buffer limits the top end range. In both conditions, the input signal can be lower than AGND because of a negative charge pump that was designed on the ADC. The device uses a different type of PGA implementation from other ADCs.

    Regards,

    Dale
