ADS8509: NC Pin Clarification

Hi Experts,

I would appreciate it if you can help me clarify if the NC Pin for the device ADS8509 SSOP-28 package can be left floating or connected to the ground.

I already checked the datasheet and no typical application was found and the pin description as well which only shows the abbreviation of the NC (no connect) pin.

I have found a similar post ((+) ADS7955: Floating NC Pins? - Data converters forum - Data converters - TI E2E support forums) as well however with a different device and it says that it can be left floated however grounding would be preferred to avoid crosstalk.

Hi Donjie,

The ADS7809 and ADS7955 are totally unrelated as far as process technology goes. To the best of my knowledge, the NC pins in the ADS7809 have no internal connections and there would not be any benefit gained by grounding them. It is best to leave them float.
