TLA2024: Differential mode

Part Number: TLA2024

Hello,

We need to confirm our observations:

 1. For TLA2024 If we configure input multiplexer AINP = AIN0 and AINN = AIN1 we are not able to read correct differential output. Is it recommended to use AIN0 & AIN1 channel for differential mode?

2. In data sheet its written Additionally, AIN0 and AIN1 can be measured differentially to AIN3.If this is correct than, can we use AIN0 & AIN3 channel in differential mode?

Thank You,

Akshay

  • Hi Akshay,

AINP = AIN0 and AINN = AIN1 are the default differential input combination for the TLA2024.  So this combination should work as well as any other mux combination shown in the datasheet configuration register settings.

When applying any input voltage you must make sure that the voltage is within the input range of the ADC.  The most common issue we see is an AC bench source being applied to the inputs that exceed the absolute maximum ratings of the device.  The differential voltage applied with respect to ground must be equal to or less than VDD.  Measure the voltage for AINP to ground and AINN to ground to make sure that the voltage is within the input range.

Can you explain in more detail what is connected to the inputs and what the expected outcome is as well as the result you are seeing?

    Best regards,

    Bob B
