TX7332: Clock and Sync.

Part Number: TX7332

Hello

In the data sheet it is mentioned that "TI strongly recommends" using Clock and Sync in the same manner, meaning both SE or both Diff.

Following that, a note mentioning this is a MUST.

I accidently didn't put both on the same method, and it works on my proto PCB (Clock is diff, but Sync is not).

Can I assume it will always work, going to production PCBs?

Thank you

Gady W.

  • Another question-

What could happen if they are not on the same method?

    Thank you

  • Hi,

Applying a BF_CLK and TR_BF_SYNC with different method may lead to timing issue between TR_BF_SYNC and BF_CLK signal. If you refer to section "Trigger Signal in On-chip Beamforming" in the datasheet, it explains the timing requirement between these two signals. This timing is valid if both of them are applied with same method. If these signals are applied with different methods then the internal buffers used in the device shall have different delay and setup/hold time can change which is not trimmed in the production. If you are using BF_CLK at max speed of 200MHz then it will be better to modify the board to avoid production issue.

    Thanks!
