AMC7834: AMC7834: PA_ON pin

Part Number: AMC7834

Hi TI,

I have question that why the PA_ON pin is used to driving an external PMOS switch only, could I use the NMOS ?

I have the GAN VDD is 28V which is over the limit of PA_VDD 20V, do you have recommend PMOS switch from TI could handle 28V VDrain ?

Thanks,

  • Hi Kuanchang,

It should be fine to use an NMOS instead of a PMOS on the PA_ON pin. TI doesn't have any PMOS transistors that are over 20V. You will have to look outside of TI for one.

A common implementation of the PA_ON is using the following high voltage switch:

    Thanks,
