AMC131M03: anti-aliasing filter recommendations?

Part Number: AMC131M03

Team,
There is a difference in the anti-aliasing filter recommendation for AMC131M03 vs ADS131M03:

Can you please confirm that both datasheet are correct?

Thanks in advance,

Anber

  • Hi AnBer,

I'm not sure why there are two different recommendations in the datasheets, the clocking requirements are the same for both ADCs so the AA filter cutoff should be the same (or similar) as well. The EVMs have basically the same AA filters, with 49.9ohm resistors and either a 1nF or 4.7nF cap.

The series resistor should be kept relatively low because of the loading effect due to the relatively low input impedance of the M0x devices. This is mentioned in the schematic section of the AMC131M03 EVM users guide. The series resistor also limits the current into the ADC pin during an overvoltage event however, so this must also be considered.

  • Hi Bryan,
    Thanks for the details.
I created a feedback via the "Technical Documents Feedback form" so that datasheet gets checked,
