ADS1259-Q1: ADS1259-Q1 capacitor between REFP and REFN

Part Number: ADS1259-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1259

Hi,

I'm using the ADS1259-Q1 part with it's own internal voltage reference. The datasheet says that I can leave the REFP and REFN pins unconnected or tied to AVDD is this case however reading the ADS1259 datasheet suggests that having a capacitor connected like the the suggested 1uF capacitor is still recommended for noise reduction. I just want to know if the same holds true for the ADS1259-Q1 as well.

Thanks in advance

Marcell

  • Hi Marcell Murgas,

You can see in the image below that REFOUT is connected to VREFP, and has an internal 2kohm resistor between REFOUT and VREFP. The capacitor at the output of VREFP then acts as the capacitor in an RC (lowpass) filter, to help reduce noise as the datasheet mentions.

This is the same for the ADS1259 and ADS1259-Q1
