ADS112U04: REFP pin functionality verification

Part Number: ADS112U04
I am using ADS112U04IPWR for LDR sensor reading single ended data and will communicate with UART

for REF P(9th pin) Can I populate R91 by ignoring U2 circuit? i.e, 5V direct power up to REFP?

  • Hi sandeep kothapally,

You do not need the external reference of U2.  It is possible to just connect the reference input to the AVDD supply voltage.  In addition the supply can be connected by register setting in Configuration Register 1.  By default the internal 2.048V reference is selected, but can be changed to the external input or directly to the analog supply by internal mux connections.  See the ADS112U04 datasheet for additional details.

When making single-ended measurements (referenced to AGND) you also need to make sure that the PGA is disabled and bypassed.  By default the PGA is enabled.

    Best regards,
