AFE882H1EVM: DAC in AFE882H1

Part Number: AFE882H1EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE882H1,

Hi team,

I have seen 1 issue while testing the DAC in the chip.
Currently we are giving separate power to AFE882H1 from USB, where as to the main board we are giving separate power.
when I turn off my main controller but still AFE882H1 is having power I try to write to DAC register it is giving value as 44572

only when I disable the AFE882H1 and disable micro and power up them at the same time I see DAC data is correct.

why I see this issue?

Thanks in advance,
Regards,

Aarti

  • Aarti,

I'm not sure why you see the DAC data output after you disable the AFE882H1 and micro and then power them at the same time. However, the AFE882H1 should react based on the communication to the DAC data register. There shouldn't be anything strange in the timing of the device.

I think you should use an oscilloscope to see when the device commands are being written by the device and when the boards power up. Also, you can use the AFE882H1EVM and use the oscilloscope to verify the similar timing.

  • Hi Joseph,
If my this 12 to 15 bits has value 12 what is the total number of bytes FIFO holding in it?

  • Hi Aarti,

Since the H2U_LEVEL value displayed only shows the even byte count, the FIFO is holding either 24 or 25 bytes.

    Thanks,
