ADS131E08: How to test sampling rate and SNR？

Hi team,

My customer want to reproduce sampling rate and SNR testing from datasheet, could you please kindly help list the testing methods, equipment and steps? They want to co-work with 3rd party to reproduce the testing and submit the report to SGCC to get qualification. Thansk.

    Hi Owen,

    To check data rate, they have to program DR[2:0] in CONFIG1 register for the data rate they want to check, e.g. written 00 to DR[2:0] in CONFIG1 register for the highest data rate (64ksps/16-bit word size), then they can check the duration time of /DRDY output from the ADC, it should be around 15.625us for 64ksps data rate.

    The easy way to check SNR is to use a pure sinewave signal and then do FFT for the code from the ADC.
