With DAC38RF84 configured for an output level of -7dBm (∼0.1 V)
There was an unintentional open circuit termination at the output of the device.
This causes the output power to be fully reflected back to the device at 2x the magnitude (∼0.2V).
The maximum ratings for the DAC38RF84 per the data sheet at Vout1+/- or Vout2+/- are: -0.5 V min to VDDAOUT18+0.5V max.
Where, VDDAOUT18 = 1.8V (DAC Supply voltage).
The reflected voltage is within the allowable voltage tolerance for the Vout interface however, is it possible the DAC output is damaged possibly exhibiting as a drifting output level?
Hi Brian,
I am trying to understand your question.
You are saying you left the DAC outputs open? Not connected to anything?
If so, this should be fine.
Otherwise, a block diagram will work to help me understand better.
