DAC8565: schematic review

Part Number: DAC8565

Customer was designing DAC8565 to replace AD5689 in the new projects, to generate analog output, one range with -3.3V to 3.3V, and the other with 0V to 3.3V.

Could you please help review the schematic to see any suggestions? Their schedule is tight, so highly appreciated with your feedback.

  • Hi Aki,

I don't see any glaring issues with your schematics. The only thing I want to note is that due to your 4.096V reference, the full scale of the DAC output will be around 4V, not 3.3V.

Also, do note that the reference pin starts high, so you may want to find some way to disconnect the reference from the REF3040 until you turn off the internal reference, or just make sure to turn off the internal reference quickly after startup.

    Thanks,
    Erin

  • Hi Erin,

They will change to REF3033. It should be fine now?

  • Hi Aki,

Changing to the REF3033 would get you the full-scale output you want. There is still the issue of the internal reference vs external reference issue at startup, so make sure to either isolate them or turn off the internal reference quickly.

    Thanks,
    Erin
