DAC53202: Vref connection

Hello, I intend to use DAC53202 with Internal Reference. As per my understanding the connection of VREF pin should be just a bypass cap when using Internal Reference.

Datasheet mentions to add a pull up to VDD when External Reference is not used. Is this pull up added only when VDD is used as reference ?

    The VREF pin is always an input pin. You only need a bypass cap when you are using an external reference. The internal reference is never connected to the VREF pin so there is no need for a cap when using the internal reference. 

    The recommendation to pull VREF to VDD is so the pin is not floating. I have not seen any performance issue with leaving the VREF pin floating when using the other two reference options as long as you select the other reference option before powering on the DAC. The external reference is the default:
