TPL0102-100: Tpl0102-100: tpl0102, occasionally VDD and HA in the device internal short circuit

Part Number: TPL0102-100

In our design, it's like the upper circuit. In the application, the VCCD2V0_T of U439 is powered on first, and the LDO is started. The U439 is required to output 1.8V. After 5s, the VDD power of U440 is started (VCCD3V3_DEV). In practical application, the function can be realized, but the line will be out occasionally. The VDD and HA PIN of U440 TPL0102 are short-circuted inside the chip (pass-through resistance value is 11 ohms), and the output voltage of LDO U439 becomes 2.6V. We can't find the reason, please support and help. thank you

  • Hi Reginal,

When you are turning on the TPL0102 supply after the TPS supply, you are violating the absolute maximum ratings of the TPL0102:

When the ratings for any pin is violated, the ESD diodes in the device will conduct to the VDD (or VSS) supply.

The supplies for both devices should be turned on at the same time, or the devices should use the same supply.

    Best,

    Katlynne Jones
