TX7516: TX7516 pattern error

Part Number: TX7516

Tool/software:

Hello,

We have been working with TX7516  to transmit various electronic patterns for an ultrasound device.

In a peculiar manner, we discovered that a pattern that should be valid is not being transmitted correctly (only producing small noise). Moreover, if we attempt to transmit it, the device generates noise for subsequent patterns as well.

The pattern is as follows:
5,
20,16,16,0,
20,17,17,0,
20,18,18,0,
20,17,17,0,
20,18,18,0,
20,17,17,0,
20,21,21,0,
20,18,18,0,
20,21,21,0,
255,0,0

While many other templates we tried work as expected, this one does not. We would greatly appreciate understanding what we have missed or implemented incorrectly in this template.

Thank you.

Moshe Oziel

  • Hi Moshe,

I am not able to follow the pattern or the numbers you are referring to here. Do the numbers refer to the pattern programmed in the memory?

    Thanks and Regards

  • Hi

    Thanks for the fast response.

Yes, those numbers refer to the pattern programmed in the memory.
Here is a table that represents the meaning of the numbers as we understand them:

    5, 'GBL_REP_NUM', 5
    20,16,16,0, 'LOCAL_REP_NUM', 20 | 'LVL_PER', 'Ground', period=2 | 'LVL_PER', 'Ground', period=2 | 'LOCAL_REP_END', 0
    20,17,17,0, 'LOCAL_REP_NUM', 20 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDP_HV_A', period=2 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDP_HV_A', period=2 | 'LOCAL_REP_END', 0
    20,18,18,0, 'LOCAL_REP_NUM', 20 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDP_HV_B', period=2 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDP_HV_B', period=2 | 'LOCAL_REP_END', 0
    20,17,17,0, 'LOCAL_REP_NUM', 20 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDP_HV_A', period=2 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDP_HV_A', period=2 | 'LOCAL_REP_END', 0
    20,18,18,0, 'LOCAL_REP_NUM', 20 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDP_HV_B', period=2 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDP_HV_B', period=2 | 'LOCAL_REP_END', 0
    20,17,17,0, 'LOCAL_REP_NUM', 20 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDP_HV_A', period=2 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDP_HV_A', period=2 | 'LOCAL_REP_END', 0
    20,21,21,0, 'LOCAL_REP_NUM', 20 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDM_HV_A', period=2 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDM_HV_A', period=2 | 'LOCAL_REP_END', 0
    20,18,18,0, 'LOCAL_REP_NUM', 20 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDP_HV_B', period=2 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDP_HV_B', period=2 | 'LOCAL_REP_END', 0
    20,21,21,0, 'LOCAL_REP_NUM', 20 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDM_HV_A', period=2 | 'LVL_PER', 'AVDDM_HV_A', period=2 | 'LOCAL_REP_END', 0
    255,0,0 'GBL_REP_END', 255
  • Hi Moshe,

Thank you for explaining the pattern you have programmed. The pattern seems to be quiet long. Does the device go to shutdown after you try to transmit the pattern? The device has multiple error conditions as explained in the datasheet. Could you check if any of the error conditions has triggered?

    Thanks and Regards
